First and foremost: another round of HotFixes V2 is now up that addresses a couple of issues regarding delayed triggering combat events (especially in Mission 14) that was making it hard and/or impossible to progress on certain stages. If you’re in the middle of the mission with this issue, retrace your steps back to the starting point after updating to see if they now trigger, else the mission may require a restart unfortunately. Also fixed an issue regarding the “Handyman Needed” side quest that wasn’t concluding correctly: so make sure you grab it!

Now then: aftermath of what, you may ask?

In case you missed it count yourself lucky, but long story short the first round of hot fixes that originally got uploaded were a hot mess. In the end we did fix what was broken by simply uploading a full working version of the updated game (V1.1); which is all people wanted so they could play it after all! Did I mention I’m not a professional game designer? Oh... well, I sure proved it!

I, Leo, who is solely responsible for coding the game, have now learned my lesson about game updates – and the lesson is: I will not rush them in order to just stick to a timeline. You see, I did say to you all and I had promised Teresa I’d get it done with that last hot fix update and well – it got done, yeah – but as many of you early-birds who tried to download it found out – it gone done be wrong! It was Sunday, it was late: so missed a few vital files to make the game work; it happens! Yes, I goofed up – I had a big dumb – and I am sorry.  Rest assured Teresa will punish me if it happens again, so I have extra incentive not to let that happen! So all future updates will be rolled out properly – and properly tested first!

However! On a much more positive note, work has begun on an update that’ll actually add content rather than just fixing things that are broken. Following a very vague and bound to alter plan, we’ve now got 3 more content updates planned. The first will add some extra features, the next will expand upon several existing features, and the last will be our major expansion which has lots going on in it to round off the game – and give our hero blue-zombie-dude his own plot conclusion. Then, we’ll be ready for Season 3 of Helluva Boss.

We’re also considering doing a little guide/tips series on Youtube regarding content in the game. By that we mean we’ve got a lot of different things you can do besides the Story Missions and some of the details of which are so obscure a lot of people won’t be aware of all the other cool things you can do unless they’re hardcore gaming it for hours! We’ll warn of spoilers for those (like us) who don’t want them, but we’ll keep it to a minimum just to highlight what you can do – starting with how to get each character recruited to your team.

Once more – and we must keep repeating this truth – we’re really thankful for the patience everyone has shown and happy to hear people are saying they’re enjoying the game. It honestly does inspire us to do more and make it better; and really that’s all the currency we need for this free game. Well, that and Souls – but we’ll keep that to Hell – for now.

We’ll keep on fixing reported bugs in the meantime, but other than that current focus is now on adding new content – as Loona demonstrates below. We’ll let you know how that goes!
